Knowledge of malaria signs or symptoms

Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of malaria in young children is vital, and combating low awareness of signs and symptoms of malaria is a priority of National Malaria control Programme (NMCP). Although there are a variety of symptoms caused by malaria, fever is the most common and should be recognized by caregivers as possibly being the result of malaria. All children under age 5 with fever should be tested for malaria and, for those who are infected,treated within 24 hours of the onset of fever.
